First Seed: Team Elite
Team Elite enters Week 5 undefeated, making them the clear front-runner — at least on paper. However, things haven’t been entirely smooth behind the scenes. Rumors suggest that Adiv has left the team due to a lack of touches, which raises some serious questions about internal chemistry. While their record and talent are undeniable, there’s a sense that the team is walking a fine line. As the saying goes, they might have a few players who are “Certified Crash Outs.” They’ve got the potential to go all the way — but whether they hold it together is another story. Time will tell.

Second Seed: Mama’s Boys
Mama’s Boys bring a balanced and well-rounded approach to the game. With Luq and Safwan leading the charge as a dynamic 1 and 1A duo, and strong support from captain Omar, Moose, and others, they’ve built a roster with depth and chemistry. While they seem to have all the right pieces, questions remain about their energy and focus. At times, they’ve looked like they’re just going through the motions — whether that’s due to a lack of motivation or unchallenging opponents is up for debate. That said, this week’s matchup could finally bring out their full potential.

Third Seed: Matrix
Matrix is one of the more unpredictable teams this season — even they might not fully understand how they’re pulling it off. Despite dealing with setbacks, including one player reportedly injured and another currently overseas, they’ve managed to stay competitive. The addition of Roman has helped stabilize the lineup, and Nasif has stepped up as a strong leader, keeping the team on track. Once they’re back to full strength, Matrix has the tools to be a complete, championship-caliber squad. For now, they’re holding it down — and impressively so.

Fourth Seed: Imaan
Don’t let the standings fool you — the two-time defending champs may be sitting in fourth, but they’re still very much in the hunt for a Three-Peat. Word on the street is they’ve already called Pat Riley and printed the championship shirts… in fact, I’m wearing one as we speak. JoJo continues to dominate the glass, backed by a strong supporting cast that includes Goldy, Matt, and their newest weapon, Rolo. They’ve got the pedigree, the chemistry, and the confidence — but if they can’t seal the deal, those shirts might be heading right back to the printer.

Fifth Seed: Ninja Squad
Ninja Squad might be the calmest, most composed team in the league — a group that plays with poise under pressure, led by the steady duo of IP and Jash. One lingering question: will the captain’s brother, Bindi, finally make an appearance? While many peg them as a second-round playoff team at best, they’ve got real underdog potential and the ability to upset any opponent on the right day. Arvin has been locking things down on defense and is firmly in the DPOY conversation. But when it comes to winning it all, the big question remains: do they have enough firepower to finish the job? Only time will tell.

Sixth Seed: Space Curry
If there’s one team that’s been MIA this season, it’s Space Curry. The talent is there — no doubt about that — but the attendance? Not so much. Where’s Leeroy been? No one seems to know. With players missing left and right, it’s been hard to get a clear read on what this team is capable of. Shoutout to Dex for consistently showing up and holding it down, but the squad has lacked intensity, grit, defense, and toughness. If they can get their full roster on the floor and bring the energy, they’ve got sleeper potential. But until then, it's hard to take them seriously. Maybe this lights a fire — we’ll see.

Seventh Seed: Rim Reapers
Don’t let the 0–4 record fool you — Rim Reapers might just be turning the corner. Their most recent game against the undefeated Team Elite was their strongest showing yet, even managing to rattle the top seed for a stretch. The squad has legit shooters, and it showed last game when Amad, Arahm, and Hazel combined for a blistering 17 threes. Talent clearly isn’t the issue; it’s about putting it all together. If they can keep that hot shooting alive and tighten things up on both ends, this team could go from winless to dangerous in no time. Watch out — they might just be heating up.

Eighth Seed: Brooklyn All Stars
Brooklyn All Stars might be 0–4, but let’s be honest — they’re here for the vibes. Whether it’s hoops or hooking you up with hot food on the EBT card, this squad always brings something to the table. On the court, though, it’s been a tough stretch. Tev is clearly their standout, but the man needs serious help out there. The talent gap is hard to ignore, and unless Abdulrahman can pull off a mid-season roster shakeup, things might get out of hand quickly. Still, maybe this is the spark they need to flip the script — stranger things have happened.
