Power Rankings

1 Owen (Amrit)
Some, including the captain of the team himself, would say this is a shocker. The only undefeated team left in a stacked draft season is the team of friends brought together by Amrit. Looking at this team before the season started you would think they are here for vibes alone but they are flat out balling. Amrit came out firing with a 30 point opening night and they have been climbing ever since. Even without their captain there last week they took down Devs squad with a shooting clinic by Sy. All the players here know their role and Amrit pulled the heist of the draft getting everyone off Zian’s scent to scoop him in the last round. He has produced some huge buckets for this team in close games. Can they keep it up is the question?

2 Bricklayers (Hyder)
The defending champions are rolling again. They lost a heartbreaker to a Saffi assisted squad on a buzzer beater but look like they are going to be a title favorite again. Hyder went and got his guy in the first round in Talha and then went for chemistry pieces all around him. Zaid may be the surprise MVP favorite right now as Jim and Abdullah continue their championship form from Retro over to this season. Fahad is a great complimentary piece and we haven’t even seen Nick suit up for them yet. Watch out cause Hyder may do it again.

3 Black Ops (Umer)
Umer collected a squad of dogs to play this draft season. Everyone is a scrapper and a fighter. This team plays tough, aggressive and hard on both ends of the floor. They lead the league in defense and it makes sense when you have guys like Umer and Mohamin up top then Talha Hashmi waiting for you in the paint. They had a close loss in the Free Saffi protest game then came back to win a contested OT game against Moodys squad. They only seem to be getting better as they smoked Jibar’s team. The one question we have is that the offense is run through Umer and Talha with question marks after that. Can that lead them deep into the playoffs. If Umer keeps playing the way he is right now then absolutely.

4 TWSS (Farooq)
Farooq did what he always does to start a draft, take his son and days I’ll figure it out from there. This time he went with the Retro guy approach and took known quantities like Imran, Nafi and Humair. He was then given a gift by the Kommisioner in Ali Ladak to complete the duo. This team is above a couple of the others around it for one reason, Fahad is a draft season killer. He has a flair for the dramatic and the big moment as he has shown the last two draft seasons. Humair showed last week he can be a big time scorer when called upon and hopefully embraces that mentality. Nafi is the perfect compliment where he can do what he does best, shoot the three. This team should be great barring any vacation itineraries from the Ladak boys come playoffs.

5 Nice Guys (Hassib)
This team should absolutely be undefeated and potentially the best team in the league. But first they blow a giant lead to open the season then they struggled last week big time but managed to pull a win out of their hat. The inconsistency may kill them, and Samad may kill one of his teammates. He has been frustrated throughout the games with some of the scoring droughts they tend to go through and the lack of ball movement. The biggest bright spot on this team has to be the play of Umair. He has looked like the best player on the floor for them a lot of the time and their main scoring engine. Ruhel and Hassib need to up their offensive output for his team to click.

6 Draft Kings (Yusuf)
Yusuf broke up a family when he took Tayeb in round one denying the brothers the chance to succeed together. He says he got the best player in the draft and he may be right. This team has a lot of size with T, Yusuf, Haroon and Ibby on the floor together. Add in the speed of Ridwan and this team has the making of a killer squad. Haroon has been money making the 12 free throw line jumper look automatic. Ridwan is causing havoc on defense as usual and him and Tayeb are finding Yusuf below the rim to make him a legit scoring threat. What we haven’t seen from this team yet is Tayeb really stepping up to score the ball. He has been happy to play facilitator and take deep jump shots but if feels like for them to really hit their ceiling he will need to be a more versatile scorer. He is capable of it we know and if he starts doing it everyone else is in trouble.

7 FM Crew (Aadil)
These next two teams have the same record but Aqdils squad has been in every game and seems to be having fun out there so they get the edge. In his first go around as captain he said give me my boys and what happens happens. Coincidentally post draft the Kommisioner, his three year teammate, allowed him to trade his first rounder for Ali Khalid. He clearly knows the captains ways very early. The team puts up a fight and every game it’s someone different who’s doing the scoring for them. Ali, Yahya and Hugo have all had their turn and they never seem to be out of a game. They will need to find some consistency and be able to play both halves with the same intensity if they are going to want to get some more wins under their belt.

8 Wolves (Dev)
Dev got his wish in the first game and fostered the power of the people to get Saffi on his team via petition. That proved to be the bright spot of the season so far as everything has gone downhill from there. Dev overlooked a lead guard in his drafting and has one too many big men to make a complete team. A bad injury to Dawood has not helped anything and Riz is visibly frustrated on and off the court. They did get a draft gem late in Moe Gaccha who has been doing all the little things for this team. If someone like Isa or AZ can step up and take control of this team as the point guard then maybe they can recover a little bit.

9 Knights (Jibar)
This is basically Knights super team with Jibar collecting all his best players from the last couple of seasons. They have one thing really going for them and that is chemistry. When these guys are all together like we saw week one they can keep up with any team in the league. Hassan and Amged are a deadly duo that will affect the game offensively and defensively. Ali remains one of the best shooters in the league and Mohsin is a tough as nails. The big question for this team will be if they have enough talent to match all these other squads out there.

10 The Franchise (Moody)
What a mess for the Kommisioner. Hyder so far is absolutely right. Justice is served. After what some people say is shady moves to acquire Gurk the former college player and sneak in his friend Josh Moody has been rewarded with three losses and two blowouts. Now we hear his first round pick has bowed out and had to be replaced. Things couldn’t possibly get worse could they. We will see if he can actually get his players to show up and how they will do when they are on the floor together. As of right now though Saffi’s prediction of this teams success is looking rough. And so is this team.
