Worst to Best
Hyder - Captain Hyder was late to the party (after missing it entirely once before so at least he's getting better in that regard!) and that may have cost him. His first round pick could be argued is the weakest of them all and he has a bunch of all offense, no defense guys. I don't see these guys going too far.
Riz - Last year, Riz was shafted when Dev took him in the first round. This year, Riz decided to shaft himself (don't get excited Samad). On paper, this team feels the most out of place with a bunch of talented players that are all over the place in terms of fit. We will see if they're able to figure it out once they all step on the court together
Aadil - Just like he always does, Aadil decided friends are more important than winning! Just kidding, this is a sleeper team as Ali K was able to lead his team in the last draft season to within seconds of a making the finals. This team he is joined by 2 time MVP Ruhel and the rest of Aadil's usual crew hoping they fare better this time around.
Zia - Captain Zia (or should I say captain Talha?) decided to go with the jumbo lineup. He has arguably 3 of the 5 best bigs in the entire league and they are all solid defensively as well. The only question for this squad is: where is the spacing going to come from? There is almost 0 shooting on the floor at any given time so this team will really hope that defense is their best offense. The x-factor will be Sami Rabb, who was long terrorizing the higher divisions. What kind of play will he bring to the retro division?
Yusuf - Great drafting by captain Yusuf, who secured this seasons MVP Amrit and than paired him with a great guard in Tosin. The only trait this team really lacks in size but in retro, that usually does not end up being too big a factor. They may also have gotten the steal of the draft of Mohsin in round 6!
Moody - back to back seasons, back to back number 1 rankings. The KORRUPTION is real! Jokes aside, great job drafting by captain Moody. He obviously got the best overall player in Retro in Jokic aka Tayeb, but he followed it up with great role players to surround him with. Will this finally be the year that the Moody curse is broken? I sure hope so but if history tells us anything, there will be 1 of 2 things that stand in his way: a Ladak that is on a flight OR a Tim Donaghy waiting to screw him over!
Champs: Moody
MVP: Ali K
DMVP: Arvin
