9am Niners vs Crusaders
Moody clearly took Farooqs quarterback rankings personally last week and sought out to prove him wrong. You would think putting up 40 points and throwing six touchdowns would be enough to cruise to an easy victory but you would be wrong. They were a dropped wide open touchdown from getting upset in week one. So the two things we know for now are they will score and they will get scored on. The Crusaders are the kind of team you look at on paper and think, really? They allowed that? In Ezra and Shak you have the two best quarterbacks in Retro, on the same team. Gregg is an unstoppable force and Toheed is the reigning MVP. Even if the pieces around them are sub par the talent at the core are enough to lead them to a victory.

10:15am Imaan vs Maple Park Squids
Is it possible to be happy and sad after a loss? The Squids can’t be satisfied after losing a game that was literally in their grasp but they should be happy to know that they can absolutely hang in this league. They have a deep squad they rotate with a lot of talent at receiver and Rick showed that he can ball. They did not let a little adversity early keep them from fighting back and making it a game. Can them playing man defense all year be maintained? We will see. Imaan is brought back fresh off a finals appearance with a similar team, admittedly losing a great player in Omar Salama to the Niners. They had a great system last year and still have young quick receivers in Isa and Ridwan combined with vets like Owais and Faiq, this should be a great battle.

11:30 Interceptors vs Caliphs
You rarely see a team win it all and immediately get rid of two of their best players but that's what Adam and the Interceptors decided to do. Gone are Gregg and Ezra and Sal presumably takes over as signal caller. Can he provide the offense Ezra did or will they be regretting their decision in a couple of weeks? They still have great weapons and youth including both Saleem boys and Adam’s own son Jordan. Caliphs showed week one they are a contender. ZQ put up seven touchdowns and they put up almost fifty points while missing three weapons in AZ, Qasim and Uzair. It seems like the Hussaini ways of bringing in great talent continues here in Retro and we think them already playing a game will help them get over the top here while the Interceptors figure out the new offense.
