Hunters may be new to CFL retro but led by Browns veteran Naji they will know how to ball. Their team does skew older and that may catch up if the game gets close late when MPS keeps rotating in new body after new body that can run for days. Rick is an experienced QB who we think will make the big throws when counted and find Arjun and Evin in big moments to eke out a close game.

9am Mean Machine vs Ballers
There are some very known quantities on one side of this game and a total black hole of knowledge on the other. The Ballers have the Hanif boys on their side so they automatically win the best hair award this season but can they ball out. The past would tell us Umair is legit and there are few who can match Usman’s fiery attitude on the field. Mean Machine may be full of ringers, there is no way to know until we see it. For now we will take what we do know over the potential.

10am Interceptors vs Imaan
A championship rematch week one wow! The commissioner may never get the schedule out in a timely manner but when it finally gets there it brings the heat. Adam will try to avenge his finals upset bringing back a lot of the core guys like Fahad, Todd and Brian but they lose what many people considered the best player in the league, Sal. We also hear Faizan may start the season on the ir so a lot of things are up in the air. Faiq meanwhile runs back a championship winning squad so the only question here is will there be a title hangover? We say no!

10am Phantoms vs Warriors
The new record for pre game over under has been set in this game, it is right 70.5. And I say over. We don’t know if either of these teams can play defense and we do know they can score. The premier quarterback matchup of the week is happening here in ZQ vs Ezra. Last seasons mvp will try and continue his production from last season while Samad and Fahad try to turn around a defense that was borderline offensive last season. Farooq and his guys will try to avoid last seasons week 1 where they gave up nearly 70 points on their own. This will be a high flying affair that we see coming down to the end. In the end we see nobody on the team who will be able to guard Greg for what will be the game winning touchdown unless they amend the rules to let Samad play with a ladder. Warriors take the W.

11am Botz vs Bing Bong
The commissioner himself will open the season playing a QB he once made a championship appearance with in Tayeb. The Botz are the same squad we see every season, they are always excited and ready to put up a fight. The results would say they need some help but they are hoping continued progress in the system and from QB Syed will be what they need to turn it around. AZ has some young guns on this team who will try and learn the game from him and a huge signing for him in Ken, a Crescent football OG who always knows where to be on the field. We think Tayeb will need a game to adjust to the competition and Botz start well in a close game.
