CFL Rewind Weekly Preview

Good day, folks! Crescent Football is turning back the clock with CFL Rewind, a new division featuring familiar faces, returning rivalries, and plenty of unfinished business.

This may not be Crescent’s fastest division, but don’t confuse a little less speed with a little less passion. With Pulak, Moody, and Ezra in the mix, expect fierce competition, plenty of chatter, and players determined to leave everything on the field. The legs may need a longer warmup, but the competitive fire is already at kickoff temperature.

Let’s get to this week’s matchups.

Game 1  Hunters vs Browns

Field 2 | 10:30 a.m.

Who would have thought Naj would one day line up against the Browns? Yet here we are, with his Hunters preparing to spoil the return of a familiar CFL franchise.

Pulak leads the Browns back into action alongside Faiq, Owais, and Sult. That group brings experience, toughness, and enough familiarity with the game to make life difficult for an opponent still finding its footing.

The Hunters have some firepower of their own. Sufiyan, Hira, and Jafar give Naj a group capable of competing and keeping this interesting. Their challenge will be turning that potential into consistent execution against the Browns seasoned core.

The X factor is Pulak. As the Browns quarterback, he needs to protect the football and avoid giving the Hunters extra opportunities. If he keeps the mistakes down, Owais and Sult could help the Browns take control.

Expect a spirited fight from the Hunters, but the Browns experience should carry the day.

Prediction: Browns 38, Hunters 28.

Game 2  NYNJFC vs Niners

Field 2 | 11:30 a.m.

A Moody-led team is always worth watching. He knows how to work the system, understands what it takes to win, and will have his Niners ready to compete.

Across the field is NYNJFC, short for New York New Jersey Football Club, a fitting name for a team with roughly half its roster coming from New Jersey. The name may be new, but its leaders certainly aren’t: Ezra, Farooq, and Asif bring plenty of CFL experience.

Word around the league is that NYNJFC combines longtime veterans with inexperienced youngsters. That mix could produce a few surprises, although building chemistry may take some time.

Meanwhile, Moody’s Niners welcome Jubar and his crew from CBL to CFL. How quickly they adjust to football could help decide a matchup in which neither offense is expected to have an easy morning.

Look for a defensive battle, a few early miscues, and plenty of sideline advice. In a close game, Moody’s ability to manage the moment could give the Niners the edge.

Prediction: Niners 20, NYNJFC 12.

Parding Words

The Rewind name may look backward, but this division has a fresh chapter to write. Same pride, same rivalries, and perhaps a little more stretching. Let the games begin.
