It is time for the most exciting week in the CFL season, Super Saturday. We will know who's playing for the championship by the afternoon. All the action packed into one day. Let's take a look at the matchups and predict what we think will happen.
Niners vs Ballers
This is a matchup that should be fun. The first time they met the Niners were running a bare bones group so the Ballers don’t have experience against this full group Moody will run out. Usman showed however last year that he can get this team to show up when it matters and win improbable games even when they shouldn’t. The first question in this matchup is who is suiting up for the Niners, rumor has it Josh is banged up, Nafi is still questionable to make his season debut and surprise breakout player Lou will be out of the country. Will the guys who suit up be enough to win, we know they can score. We know trash talk will also be high when Farooq favorite Dwayne is on the field and Esteban had a great last game of the season against Pluto. Can they stop the Ballers on defense is the question. The Ballers will have a lot of talent on the field. Umair is last season's MVP and while he hasn’t gotten back to that level this season we know he is capable of elite play. They have great pieces around him with guys like Anthony and Aqib who burned the Niners for two tds the last time out. In the end we think this game comes down to who can put up more on the scoreboard and for that we will go with the quarterback playing better at the moment. Niners win in a barn burner.

Caliphs vs Pluto
This game feels like it only has two true outcomes and it all depends on who suits up at quarterback for this Pluto squad. Shak has shown he can play and make some throws and he should not be discounted but this team looks different when Jordan is under center. He can make plays not many other players in this league can. There were times against the Niners when he had 20 seconds to throw and other times was running down the field and no one was able to catch him. He keeps this game close, if Shak is the guy making the plays Caliphs should roll. The talent disparity is clear. AZ has stacked up this team like a union mason. If its not enough to have his usual guys like ZQ and Safwan he went and grabbed two tremendous deep threats and put them both on his team in Will and Taevon. Pluto has talent on the outside as well, Manny can take the top off a defense and Toheed may have been the most consistent receiver in CFL this season. If Pluto has a shot with Shak at qb it will be hoping Shane is shaky in his first year playing in the CFL super Saturday. But we don’t think so.

Powerpuff Boys vs Niners
The Niners reward for winning their first game is playing the team that looks simply unstoppable right now in the Powerpuff Boys. They have not dropped a game and even when the games are close they never seem fazed. Sims has to be the favorite for MVP and has unmatched chemistry with his receivers. With how the Niners have struggled to cover I don’t see a route to stopping them, so it will come down to can they outscore them. With most teams the answer is a simple no but they may just have the ability to do it. Esteban is a former MVP so we know he has the talent and PP has consistently played straight man defense all season to great effect. Does Moody have some plays to break out to get his guys open? There will be insane talent all over the field and no matter the result this should be a phenomenal game. Harpal, Deeraj, Phil< Josh, Ruhel, Nafi. This game is primetime for sure. Moody’s squad gets close but the immaculate season continues.

Caliphs vs The U
If these semi matchups come to light we are in for two great matchups. Ken is a CFL day 1 guy and has won enough chips to know what it takes to reach the big game. In his first season at the helm of a team he had some growing pains but his team figured themselves out enough to clinch the second seed going into super saturday. He started his team at the most important position and found a solid QB in Dre. Some call him brash, some call him cocky but he knows ball. Players like Meek, Steve, Wayne and Ken who if you need eight yards will always get you nine make up part of a loaded WR core. Their last game against this Caliphs team may be a bit misleading, it was not the same squad AZ will roll out this weekend. If we look outside of the QB position the talent edge goes to the Caliphs, though that would be true no matter who they went up against. We have seen The U give up some big games through the air towards the end of the season and this game has the feel of a shootout. My gut reaction is to say pick the better qb and say Dre leads U to the chip, but this team has shown that in games that get tough they start to infight and questionable game decisions are made. In games where there is a talent disparity the execution has to be perfect. We get the first lower seed to “upset” and get a rematch of the most controversial game of the season, this time for all the marbles.
