Retro is finally back!
After a long hiatus the gym is open and we can expect another exciting CBL season. Last season was heavy on the heart and brother Gouhar will always be part of the fabric of the Retro brand and his team ended last season winning the championship and Tower and several of its members retiring from the league. As we look ahead to the following season we have ten familiar teams but some with new (or returning) faces.
Primetime look to bounce back from a finals loss with much of the same roster led by the Ladak boys Imran and Ali. Will that loss fuel them or will it have been the last shot Commish Moody has at winning a championship.
Qasim brings back Phantoms with some new guys with the same ideals. You better lace up your running shoes when playing these guys. They are going to run and gun and try to score as many points as possible.
Yusuf and La Familia were the surprise of the playoff last season making a deep run not many people saw coming. They are the epitome of team ball, you never know where the playmaking or scoring is going to come from but it is always going to be a tough challenge beating them.
Muzz brings back the high scoring squad from last season hoping to equate regular season success and playoff success this time. Yusuf can flat out score and Muzz is only getting healthier. We have to see if Haseeb can return to his pre injury form this season because if he does this team could run away with it.
Zia is running it back with his squad of giants. Fahad, Talha and Humair are the biggest frontline in retro and will be a pain to face for many team. They did lack some offense last season especially from the perimeter so let’s see what adjustments they can make to open up their game.
Bricklayers bring a new leader to the mix in long time member Hyder. His experience at leading teams was shown in draft season where he came away with the title so we know that he can lead a team all the way. The duo of Umer and Feruk was a little underwhelming last season but we anticipate a healthier and bigger season from this team who will be in the mix.
Tigers are a little rebranded this season taking some familiar faces like Riz and Danyel on to bring new look to the guys from Astoria. Riz plus Ruhel will be a dangerous combination and maybe bring the veteran leadership they have needed come playoff time.
The Brooklyn knights are back and this time Jabar is taking over as captain. Ismail we wish you all the best in Utah, your three point chucking ways will be missed. This will be a reunion of the splash bros in Amjed and Ali. Ali is coming off a down season with All Day but we think he will return to his mvp like ways combined with former mvp Amjed.
Shah and Dev and company run it back coming off their toughest season they have ever had in Retro. How will they respond to adversity for the first time. What will the roster look like? Are we going to get Dev from the finals two years ago or the one from last year who was disappearing for stretches. There are more questions than answers with this team.
All Day, what can we say? A botched finger roll from upsetting Primetime in the first round in an instant classic. We know Aqib usually runs back the same squad and this season will probably not be very different. They are scrappy, lack scoring but will always fight. Let’s see if they can take a step towards winning more games.

Enjoy the season everyone and stay tuned for more content!
