Wooooooo Some BANGERS to start the season. We had a blowout in one game and 2 games decided by 1 point each forthe other 2. Overall a great night of basketball, but lets get into it.
Not Ranked Yet - Halal Hoops, Warriors
1) Gaza - Captain Khalil brought the boys to play this season and started off hot! Khalil dropped a cool 25 and had help from reigning MVP Nas with 21 of his own. With the spacing and ball control that this team has, they will be tough to stop.
2) Medina Mavericks - The number 1 thing that stood out with this team was SIZE. Omar and Safwan handle the scoring load, but this teams identity is defense
and with Mustafa and Ibrahim sharing the duties in the paint and safwan/Hussain in the perimeter, it'll be tough for any team to score on them.
3) Monstarz - It wouldn't be a league without an Afghan team. Mo Salimi and co took care of business without captain reef there, dropping a cool 27 to lead his team to a nailbiter of a victory.
4) Cease Fire - This team will be the story of the season. Even though they took a 1 point L this week, this team turned heads with superstar Darwin on the roster. A physical specimen who's ready to take over the league. Look for this team to climb the ranking as the season continues.
5) Caliphs - Zian had a monster triple double this week with 14 pts 12 rebs and 10 assists, adding in 6 blocks. In order for them to be successful, him and his partner in crime ZQ will have to consistently drop 20+ a game. The question around this team has always been consistency, but if they can click they are a chip team.
6) Team Name - Soeb and co continue to have attendance issues, this time costing them the game. At full strength this team is the deadliest team in the league by far, but attendance is their achilles heel. Hopefully they can figure it out before its too late.
