Through 7 weeks of play, it's a very tight race to catch a playoff position as the season closes. Teams are starting to form, major injuries and replacements occur. Lets see what we have!
1) Monstarz - 4-0, This team is THE team to beat. Without Sharif this team still found a way to win against a highly talented Gaza team in week 6. Omar stepped it up with 20 and Kari made his debut with a cool 16, coming mostly from transition. When this teams head is down, Bieber seems to be able to bring the spark for them, dropping a calm 24 and 10. Chip or Bust for this team this season.
2) Cease Fire - 4-2, Tough loss this week as Saleh's farewell game ends in an L. They had a big early lead but played around too much and paid the price. These guys can lock it in and beat any team if they keep their heads straight, as they are the most talented team with the best player in the league.
3) Warriors - 3-1 Warriors had a couple of bye weeks for them, but are still that dominant force with Rabhir and Josh cooking and Shamikh/Bilal dishing and making timely buckets.
4) Gaza - 3-2 Big fan of this teams camaraderie and the grit they play with. They can make a playoff push if the right pieces align and they execute well.
5) Caliphs - 2-2 These guys have talent, they have chip experience, and they have chemistry. Now they need to show it. Enough losing and enough excuses. I see them closing out the season with 3 dubs.
6) Team Name - 1-5 They showed up full team and put the league on notice. Soeb and Dan are a force to be reckoned with. Te league better hope they dont sneak into the playoffs.
7) Medina Mavericks - 1-4 Injuries have been bugging this team which once showed a lot of promise. I think they can turn it around if they stirng together some wins, but they need Safwan to come alive.
8) Halal Hoops - 1-3 Only 1 win and a bunch of byes brng them to the 8 spot but they have 3 games left. A lot of opportunity to prove themselves. Their playoff aspirations are in their own hands.
