🏈 CFL POWER RANKINGS

Crescent Football League • Week 6

The standings don't tell the whole story. Some teams are making statements, others are hitting the panic button, and a few are still trying to figure out who they are. The Caliphs made their move, the Niners remain the gold standard, and the Warriors are finding ways to win. Meanwhile, the Elites? Somebody needs to check on them.

1. Niners — Still the Standard

Record: 3–0 | Point Differential: +68

No game, no problem. The Niners didn't even need to suit up this week to maintain their spot at the top of the power rankings. At 3–0, they're undefeated, averaging nearly 40 points per game, and boasting the league's best point differential. Moody and company have earned the benefit of the doubt. Until somebody knocks them off, the road to the CFL championship runs through them.

Buzz word: Untouchable.

2. Caliphs — Statement Made

Record: 3–1 | Point Differential: +44

They left NO DOUBT about who the real young core team is! The Caliphs shut down Marine Park Squids in the second half and sent a message to the entire league. This wasn't just another win; it was a statement. The young guns showed they can compete with anybody when the lights get bright. At 3–1, they're knocking on the door of the top spot. Keep playing defense like that, and the No. 1 ranking could be theirs soon.

Buzz word: Statement made.

3. Warriors — Clutch When It Counts

Record: 3–2 | Point Differential: +1

Winning ugly is still winning! The Warriors survived two close games, and Ezra made his presence felt coming off the bench when his team needed him most. Meanwhile, Louis is putting on a clinic and showing off those MVP skills. The numbers might not jump off the page, but this team is finding ways to get the job done. The big question: can they keep winning when the competition gets tougher?

Buzz word: Clutch.

4. Pluto — Talent Without Consistency

Record: 3–2 | Point Differential: +42

Talent? Absolutely. Consistency? Still missing. Pluto has the firepower to beat just about anybody, as evidenced by its 135 points scored and dominant win over the Hunters. But this team has to figure out how to bring that same energy every week. And while we're at it, WHO IS THEIR QB?! The talent is there, but until they establish some consistency and an identity under center, Pluto will remain one of the league's biggest question marks.

Buzz word: Unpredictable.

5. Mamas Boys — Set the Alarm!

Record: 3–2 | Point Differential: +1

If they wake up early, they compete. If it's before 11 a.m., forget about it! The Mamas Boys have enough talent to hang with the competition, but their performance seems to depend on what time the alarm goes off. With a nearly even point differential, they're right in the thick of things. The question is whether they can bring four quarters of energy instead of waiting until brunch to get going.

Buzz word: Alarm clock.

6. Hunters — Dangerous Underdogs

Record: 2–3 | Point Differential: −30

One step forward, two steps back. The Hunters took care of business against the Interceptors, only to get handled by Pluto. That's the kind of inconsistency keeping them out of the upper tier. Still, with Shu in the picture, you can never count these guys out. They have someone who can help them compete, but they need to turn those flashes of potential into consistent performances.

Buzz word: Dangerous underdogs.

7. Interceptors — Bounce-Back Needed

Record: 2–3 | Point Differential: −11

The scoreboard isn't telling the whole story, but the defense needs work. The Interceptors have shown they can score, putting up 120 points in five games, but giving up 131 isn't going to win many shootouts. The loss to the Hunters stings, especially with the standings getting tighter. They aren't far away from turning things around, but the defense needs to make a statement.

Buzz word: Bounce-back needed.

8. Marine Park Squids (MPS) — Reality Check

Record: 3–1 | Point Differential: 0

SMH. That was the test, and they failed it. MPS had a chance to prove they belonged with the big boys, but the Caliphs shut them down in the second half. A team with championship ambitions can't afford to disappear when the pressure rises. Captain Evin, it's back to the drawing board. The 3–1 record is solid, but the next big matchup will tell us whether this team learned anything from the loss.

Buzz word: Reality check.

9. Mean Machine — Almost Isn't Enough

Record: 0–4 | Point Differential: −44

Another week, another heartbreak. Mean Machine came close against the Warriors but couldn't finish the job. The losing streak continues, and the standings aren't getting any prettier. But don't confuse an 0–4 record with a team that has no hope. There's potential here, and the competitive showing against the Warriors proves they can hang around. Now they need to learn how to close.

Buzz word: Almost isn't enough.

10. Elites — Wake-Up Call

Record: 0–4 | Point Differential: −71

ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER LOSS. SHAME ON THEM! At some point, the excuses have to stop. The Elites are 0–4, have surrendered 168 points, and are giving up an average of 42 points per game. That's not just a rough stretch; that's a full-blown crisis. Right now, they aren't competing at the level this league demands. Something needs to change immediately, whether it's the effort, the execution, or the game plan.

Buzz word: Wake-up call.
