🏈 CFL WEEK 7 PREVIEW: THE PLAYOFF PUSH IS ON!

Good day, CFL fans!

We’re heading into Week 7 — the second-to-last week of the regular season! The standings are taking shape, but there’s still time to make a statement, build momentum, or remind everyone that you’re not ready for the offseason. The Niners remain undefeated, the Caliphs are right behind them, and MPS is looking like a legitimate contender. Meanwhile, some teams are running out of time to figure things out.

Let’s get into this week’s action!

9:30 AM | Field 1

Niners vs. Elites

When the season started, this looked like it could be a competitive matchup. Fast-forward to Week 7, and the Niners are undefeated at 4–0, while the Elites have struggled to find their footing. Still, we expect Owais and Pulak to come prepared and make this more competitive than the standings suggest.

QB Anas will need to connect with Issa and Owais, while Moody will look to get Moe and Ruhel involved early. The big X-factor? Can the Elites avoid throwing interceptions to Moe, one of the CFL’s best defensive players? The Niners have too many weapons, but if the Elites protect the ball and execute, they could make things interesting.  But the Niners will smack Elites AGAIN.

Score Prediction: Niners 28, Elites 22

10:00 AM | Field 2

Interceptors vs. Marine Park Squids (MPS)

Let’s call it like we see it: MPS is younger, more talented, more composed, and has officially established itself as a winning franchise. At 4–1, they’re looking to make a serious push, while the Interceptors are still searching for answers on both sides of the ball.

The storyline? Rick, formerly of MPS, faces his old teammates and family members. That should make things interesting! But once the game starts, QB Josh will likely go to work with his favorite targets — Arjun, Tyler, and Evin. And speaking of Evin, his all-around performance deserves serious MVP consideration.

For the Interceptors to pull off the upset, they’ll need a near-perfect performance and must get Chuck and Anthony involved. The question is whether their QB can deliver when it matters most. We expect MPS to pull away in the second half.

Score Prediction: MPS 30, Interceptors 22

11:00 AM | Field 2

Interceptors vs. Hunters

Back-to-back games for the Interceptors — and their second opponent is the Hunters. If Game 1 against MPS doesn’t go their way, they’ll have little time to regroup. And guess what? QB Shu and company will be ready to take advantage.

Syed and the Hunters will be looking to put this one away early, with Jubair, Hasan, and Naj providing plenty of firepower. The Hunters have struggled with consistency themselves at 2–3, but they have the talent to make this a long morning for the Interceptors.

The Interceptors have been one of the CFL’s most inconsistent teams this season at 2-4, and playing twice in a row against two quality opponents is a tough assignment. Unless they find a way to slow down the Hunters’ offense, this could get ugly quickly. The last time they played the Hunters, the results were close but this time Captain Adam will have to hold onto his shorts!

Score Prediction: Hunters 42, Interceptors 7

Final Word

Week 7 is about more than just wins and losses — it’s about momentum heading into the final week. The Niners want to protect their perfect record, MPS wants to prove it belongs among the league’s elite, and the Hunters have an opportunity to make a statement. For the teams still struggling, time is running out to turn things around.

Two weeks left. No more excuses. Let’s play some football!
